IATSE (International Association of Theatrical and Screen Employees) was formed as a result of this strike.

Weatherwax remembers:

"My good friend Kathleen had just acquired a very good position at one of the Studios. She was staying with us at the time and got all dressed up for her first day of work. Katheleen arrived to meet the picket line, and promptly put her contract in her pocket and picked up a sign."
