One of the few graphics encompassing all of the locations of the 9/11 attacks. The stars represent the planes, one crashing into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., two crashing into the World Trade Center in New York City, and one that went down in a field in western Pennsylvania. Recovery workers built this shrine, located near a plywood barricade at Ground Zero. Note the wooden cross, and also the candles and other evidence that the shrine is still in use four months after it was built. Photograph taken January 14, 2002. |
