The magazine, published monthly by the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers, highlights suspension bridges built by John A. Roebling's Sons Co. It was Roebling's invention of the twisted wire rope that made possible his most famous creation, the Brooklyn Bridge. When John Roebling died in 1869, shortly after construction on the bridge began, his son Washington A. Roebling assumed the position of chief engineer, and it was he who saw the bridge to completion--in May, 1883.
