Traveling Exhibit
Building on the oral histories and images in the Wagner Archives collections, and on a series of efforts with similar titles, including a project to survey union records in the NY metropolitan area, a series of panels and seminars about documenting New York City workers, and a report assessing archival sources documenting NYC workers, Bernhardt, with co curator and Archives consultant Rachel Bernstein, created this exhibition. The twelve 6 foot tall panels opened (for a one day run) in New York’s City Hall in 1998. It subsequently traveled to dozens of sites throughout New York state, including the airport in Albany, union halls, and the CUNY Graduate Center.
