This series of three quilts featuring photographs about the history of the ILGWU was made by garment worker and organizer extraordinaire Kathy Andrade and friends for the 1995 national convention of the union.?”UNITE & FIGHT” had a special significance for this convention for it was there, in July of 1995, the ILGWU merged with the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union (ACTWU), forming UNITE (Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees).
