Construction Workers by Frank Taira

Japanese American artist Frank Taira (1913-2010) was born in San Francisco and trained at the California School of Fine Arts. Taira was interned during World War II in displacement camps which interrupted his artistic career. This image of construction workers is part of the Labor Arts exhibit Scenes of American Labor with thirty nine paintings that evoke the individual and physical experience of work. The entire series is housed at the Sullivan Goss Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA.
