In the early twentieth century industrial work was a common cause of injury and illness. In this drawing artist Robert Clyde Bentley shows a worker on crutches being helped by two other workers.
It is part of the Labor Arts exhibit Scenes of American Labor with thirty nine paintings that evoke the individual and physical experience of work. The entire series is housed at the Sullivan Goss Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA.
