Labor Exchange Five Dollar Note.

A note issued in 1887 for Branch 230, Brunswick Valley Colony in Kepner, PA.  The Brunswick Valley Colony was a utopian socialist organization with various locations.  The note has distinctive engravings depicting the fruits of labor, with the inscription:  “Balance due bearer in labor or the products of labor.”
