“Rita of Plaza Hair“

The Vendors of Newkirk series by Brooklyn artist Nina Talbot presents portraits of immigrant shopkeepers from Newkirk Plaza, a multicultural neighborhood in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. Talbot captures a hodgepodge of mismatched mom and pop shops around her corner, including Plaza Hair Studio, depicted in “Rita of Plaza Hair.”
