Tanya by Dan McCleary

Oil on canvas, 36 x 44 inches

In simple forms and colors Dan McCleary evokes the loneliness and sterility of work for two women in the food service industry. Note the styrofoam cups and the distant expression of the counter person, who appears to be split. The painting is part of the Labor Arts exhibit Scenes of American Labor which explores the individual and physical experience of work. The entire series is housed at the Sullivan Goss Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA.
