Peace March, New York City

With the devastation of “The Great War” within memory and the rise of fascism in Germany not complete, activists in the peace movement in the United States concentrated on preventing another war. Their signs read”Demand All War Funds for the Unemployed” and “No Munitions Shipments,” reflecting the attempt to stop the arms industry from sending arms to Europe, and the fight for unemployment insurance. Congressional investigations into war profiteering during World War I were being conducted during this time.
