Migrant Workers Preparing to Move on, North Carolina, c. 1940.
This photograph, also taken under the auspices of the Farm Security Administration, anticipates by a number of years the major organizational drives affecting migrant workers throughout the country. When the conditions of work endured by these migrant workers became known, there was an outburst of public support to bring an end to these intolerable conditions.
