“IN MEMORY of the delivery boys who died,” reads the sign on this shrine to bicycle messengers on Lower Broadway near Ground Zero. The shrine touched many: an apocryphal story describes the bicycle as one that belonged to a man delivering pizza in the twin towers on September 11– a man who parked his bike, went upstairs to make the delivery, and never came back.
