Labor Defender, June 1929.
This magazine, published monthly by the International Labor Defense (ILD), contains a report on the first anti-fascist congress, which was held in Berlin, photos of the state militia demolishing the headquarters of the National Textile Workers’ Union (NTWU) in Gastonia, North Carolina, and of a howitzer company getting ready for action in the same place.
See here a leaflet urging Negro and white textile workers to unite against the oppression and lynching occurring in Gastonia, North Carolina. Here is “Smash the Murderous Frame-up Against the Gastonia Strikers!” issued by the ILD.
See also a cover of Labor Defender issued by the ILD in August 1929.
See a photo of housing allotted to textile workers.
