Our exhibit depicts
the relationship between photography and America's working population
during the 1930s, 40s and early 50s -- a period of labor organization,
strikes and turmoil in this country. The brief biographies of
the photographers have clues about the political convictions
many of them shared, at times revealed in the way they present
the workers and their occupations.
