Rural, isolated areas often had very limited health care, if any at all. Since all of the members were often unable to get to the medical care facility themselves, ILGWU President David Dubinsky decided to bring the medical care to the members.

Here is the innovative ILGWU mobile unit at two separate remote locations where residents come to seek treatment. The one on the left is the late 1940s, the one on the right the early 1950s -- both locations unidentified.
